Review of the Week: Soap and Glory Glow All Out "Luminizing Radiance" Face Powder

Why hello there!

This week I am going to be reviewing Glow All Out by Soap and Glory.

I first saw this product on Fleur De Force's blog a few months ago, and I really have been craving it ever since.

I was kind of teetering on the edge on whether to buy it or not, as it is quite expensive for me, at £11.

However, I then got a £10 Boots gift voucher.... so why not buy it then!

This is advertised to give you "skin like a supermodel", and is a "luminizing" face powder designed to work like a highlighter.

Firstly, the packaging is just gorgeous! It is a sturdy cardboard case with a magnetised lid and a large mirror that is perfect for touch-ups. A lot of people have said this, but it really does remind me of the Benefit branding. It is very vintage-inspired, and just all around lovely!

The product it's self is just amazing. It certainly does it's job, but it does it subtly without any shimmer or glitter. The way I would describe this is certainly a glow... so the name is very fitting!

You only need a little bit to get beautifully glowing, healthy looking skin, and it draws the attention away from imperfections to where you have decided to bring out.

The versatility is very good for this product.. You can get a natural  or quite a intense "glow" as such.

Overall, I absolutely love this product! It stands out from my other highlighters as it doesn't look too shimmery and over the top. It looks beautiful and natural!

You can buy this from Boots for £11, and all Soap and Glory products (cosmetics and bath and body) are currently on 3-4-2 in store.

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned and follow for more!

September Favourites!!!!! :-)

Heya!

September. The month with a mix of sunshine and rain. The transition from Summer to Autumn when you don't know whether to dare to wear jumpers or shorts.
One of my favourite months!
I have come across some new favourites, so here we go!
The first is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Fatal Apple.

I love this lipgloss! It is a beautiful red colour that is perfect for Autumn.

It looks bright in the bottle but once on the lips is quite sheer. However, it can be layered to quite a full colour.

I have actually never tried a Revlon product before, as I have always found it a bit expensive for my pocket, but after this, I am sure to be buying more - this is the best lipgloss I have ever used!

Amazing! Expect a review soon!
Next is my Avon Mega Effects Mascara.

I'm not going to waffle on about this.

Read my full review here!

Next is my Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencils from Collection.

Again, not going to waffle on...

Read my full review here!

Next is the Rimmel Stay Blushed Liquid Cheek Tint in Sunkissed Cherry.

I love this as it dries to a natural finish and gives a lovely flush of colour.

I tend to go for more red toned make up in Autumn/Winter, and this is perfect.

It lasts all day, and is just generally awesome!

Expect a full review!

Finally, my last beauty item is the MUA Mosaic Blush in English Rose.

This is a tad too shimmery for me... so I use it as a pink toned highlighter!

It looks gorgeous on the skin and gives a beautiful natural glow on my skin tone.

It is beautiful on as a blusher too, just not on an everyday basis for me.

The only problem I have is... it smells weird.

But I'll let that slide, haha!

Gorgeous!

Time for foooooooooooooooood yum!

This month I have been eating the Muller Light Greek Style Yoghurt like CRAZY!

They are so yum!

I personally love the honeyed peach flavour (PIECES OF PEACH!! mmmmmmmm)

And... 90 calories!

Pretty good, right?!

So much yum.

So. Much. Yum.

 And finally, my music choice!

So this is kind of an old-ish song (it's been in the chart for 6 weeks), but I love it sooooo much, and I can't stop listening to it.

It is "Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)" by Klangkarussell ft. Will Heard.

This is such a good song! I love Will Heard's voice, it's so unique and just basically awesome!

It has such a good beat, and I love the lyrics!

I love the version with Cara Delevigne too, she has quite a soft voice that goes brilliantly with Will's - click here to see that, 'tis amazing!!

That concludes my September favourites! Roll on October - my birthday, jumpers, bold lip colours, staying inside with a candle and a book!

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned and follow for more!

Review Of The Week: Avon Mega Effects Mascara

Hey guys!

So this week I am going to be telling you about my latest obsession... the Avon Mega Effects Mascara!

OHMYGODOHMYGOD

IT'SSOAMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, back to normal...

This mascara has been controversial because... well, you can probably tell by the picture, it hasn't got a normal mascara wand...

It's a mini paintbrush!

This mascara is so amazing. The brush is so awesome at getting all the little lashes that you can't reach with a normal brush, and the formula is brilliant - it builds on it's self brilliantly and fans your lashes out and up.

If I'm honest, the first time I used it I looked like a very clumsy panda.

Oh well, once you get used to it, it's amazing!

It is pretty expensive at £10.00, but if you buy it now, you get a free eye primer, eyeliner, make up remover and brush!

Overall, I just love it... so much.

You can buy it from your local Avon representative, or here

Review of the Week: Collection Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencils

Hey guys!

This week I am going to be reviewing the Collection Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencils.

I first heard about these on Maddie's blog - click here to have a look, she's a great blogger! - and ever since I have, I have been CRAVING them. Literally.

So when I was in Hampshire, I went into Boots and had a look.... and bought two.

Firstly, I have Vanilla Sky. This is a beautiful shimmering cream colour that is a perfect highlight on the inner corner. It is very shimmery, but not glittery at all. I love this colour and I have worked it into my everyday 'routine' if you will :)

Secondly, there is Hot Chocolate, and this is a gorgeous lighter brown colour. It has quite a bit of shimmer, but nowhere near as much as Vanilla Sky. I have been using it smudged under the eye as a very discreet liner type look.

These colours are gorgeous, I love them!

The formula it's self is beautiful. It is very creamy and pigmented, goes on very smoothly and has a brilliant colour pay off. It is also waterproof and you practically have to take your eyes out to get it off!

The only bugbear I have with these is the packaging! The lid for Vanilla Sky came off in my make up bag and it got ruined, so I had to sharpen it to death before I got to use it again!

Otherwise, new favourite!

You can buy these at your local Boots for £3.19 or here

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned and follow for more!

Review of the Week: Rimmel Scandeleyes Retro Glam Mascara

Hey guys!

This week's review is on the newest addition to the Rimmel Scandeleyes collection - their Retro Glam Mascara.

Just to clarify, I know I'm contradicting myself! Anyway....

If you read my blog regularly, you'll know that I raved about this as the best mascara I had used in a while in my August favourites post - click here to check it out.

However, opinions can change...!

This mascara is supposedly designed to "fit the lashline" with the hourglass shaped brush.
However, it is so oversized that you cannot get to any lashes other than the prominent lashes in the middle of your eye.

Also, this is quite a wet formula. I bought this a few days after it's launch mid-August, and I was really hoping it would dry out a bit to make it a little quicker drying and a bit less smudge-y.
But no, it hasn't.
And, in conjunction with the brush, this means that you have to re-do your make-up at least three times, because you end up with mascara all over your face and eyebrows.

I really wanted to love this.

And in some respects, I do. I really like the look it gives your lashes, very lush and voluminous, but I cannot deal with the whole make-up re-doing. I don't have the time!!!!!!!!

I have the "oversized brush" problem with all of the Scandaleyes Mascaras. But I highly recommend this if you have time to re-do your make-up at least twice every morning!

But hope is not lost. Next week I'm due a massive Avon delivery... including that controversial mascara!!!

If I haven't put you off too much (*laughs*), you can pick this up from Superdrug for £6.99.

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned and follow for more!

August Favourites!

Hey everyone!

So I have decided on a new angle - posts once a week and a monthly favourites! It just works better around my schedule and is just a bit easier than once a day. Anyway!

I am doing my first favourites post for August. I tried a lot of new products in August that I fell in love with. I will also include a food favourite and a music favourite!

So... yeah!

The first item is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara.

I am in love with this. Seriously.

First of all, I love the packaging. Chic, non?

Secondly, I love the brush! It has a unique (to my knowledge) timer shape, which fits to the lash line and coats every single lash, and really adds volume and length.

The formula is really good too - it isn't waterproof, but I have found that it stays on all day, depending on whether or not I have PE. *cringes*

I think a full review will probably be coming, but for now, my favourite mascara for August!

Next isn't really high street, but...

It is the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette, and it is unbelievable.

I had money burning a hole in my pocket, and this fit the bill quite nicely!

The packaging is gorgeous, very sleek and handy, in a small plastic case with a fairly large mirror on the inner lid.

It consists of 6 shades of eye shadow, 5 matte and 1 satin.

They are neutrals, and beautiful. The satin is a white highlight called Venus that gives a beautiful highlight. The other colours consist of a cream yellow called Foxy, a
pink/nude shade called Walk of Shame, a light grey/brown called Naked 2, a dark brown crease colour called Faint and a black with the name Crave.

You can pretty much start a lot of looks with this palette, but also makes a very subtle, natural eye look in several different ways.

I have used this every single day since I bought it, and, being Urban Decay shadows, the pigmentation of these are awesome, and they last pretty much 8 hours without a primer! And also, both the dark brown and black make excellent eyeliners.

If you want a good quality, versatile, everyday neutral palette, I highly recommend this... but the price is quite high, at £20 per palette.

The next item is a rediscovery for me, and it is the Rimmel Match Perfection concealer.

This is a 2-in-1 conceal and highlight product, and it is really, really brilliant for concealing under eye circles.

I also use this to cover redness on my jawline and cheeks, and it gives a beautiful glowing effect on the skin.

I love it, however, do NOT use it on your blemishes. Ever. Seriously.

My next item is something you may have read my previous review on, but I got the others in the collection.

It is the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Cherry Me, Pink Punch and Peach Kiss.

I have been using these like crazy, especially Cherry Me!
They all are very moisturising and give a lovely hint of colour.

I'm not going to ramble on about these, so read that review if you're interested!

The final beauty related item(s?) are these foundation sponges from Superdrug.

It is £1.70 for a pack of 20 and they are very good quality!

They apply foundation and concealer evenly and flawlessly, and can be re-used. Bargain alert!!!

On to my random favourites!

For my music favourite, I have been constantly listening to Miley Cyrus' new(ish) single, We Can't Stop.

*sings*

I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this song!

I have always been a huge fan of Miley and I am obsessed with this song!

She has obviously been causing a lot of controversy lately, and I don't necessarily agree with some of the things she does, but she is one of my favourite artists, so... *shrugs*

This song is so-o-o catchy and just makes you want to dance!

I'm not too sure of the style of music yet, but we'll see!

But anyway, hopefully her next single, and her upcoming album, will be just as awesome!

Love it!!

Finally, my food favourite is.... *drum roll please*

MILKA OREO!

Oh my good gumdrops, yum....

I really shouldn't eat it, but I do.

It's so good, just... buy it.

Heaven in a wrapper.

Oh my goodness, now I crave it *slaps self on wrist*

Review Of The Day: Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Peach Kiss

Hey guys!!!

Sorry again - I haven't blogged for 22 days! I have been so, so busy, but I'm going to start blogging on a regular basis again from now on.

So today I am going to be reviewing the American cult favourite lip balm, Baby Lips by Maybelline.

There has been so much hype surrounding this product's arrival in the UK, and I have to be honest, I was so excited! This lip balm has been a favourite by the American beauty bloggers/vloggers for years, and I needed to get my hands on one!

The product it's self is very moisturising and goes on the lips very well. It adds a lovely hint of a pretty peach colour to the lips. I expected it to be more on the pink side, but it is a really lovely nude peach. It is also quite sheer, but still noticable, which is why I think it is a very good colour for school.

If I'm honest, I just picked up the first one I saw in Superdrug, but I am pleased with this - it is very moisturising and makes your lips super soft. And oh my golly gumdrops the smell!!! It smells like fresh peaches dusted in sugar licked by a unicorn. That's good, by the way. Oh my goodness, it smells so good! I think my nose will be just as baby soft as my lips by the time I have finished the tube....

Overall, I just love this! I can understand why the beauty lovers across the pond are obsessed with this. I am definitely going to buy the others at £2.99!

This line is exclusive to Superdrug and you can buy it for £2.99 in your local shop or online.

Review Of The Day: Maybelline Colorshow Nailpolish

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of blogs, I went on holiday ;-)

Today I'm going to be reviewing the Maybelline Colo(u)rshow nailpolish in the shade 341 - Orange Attack.

This summer, for some reason, I have been attracted to three colours - yellows, blues and bright oranges, and whilst looking, I have come across this little gem!

It is Orange Attack, a very bright true orange colour by the recent Maybelline nail line Colorshow by Colorama.

Priced at only £2.99, I assumed that it would take several coats to get the desired colour, but I was pleasantly surprised - it only took one coat!

It goes on very well and lasts at least 10 days with a good top coat!

I really like this colour, which has a red undertone. It really stands out on the nails.

I haven't been able to try any other shades from the collection yet, but, going on the quality of the formulation and colour pay off, I'm hoping the rest will be just as high quality!

I love this and I am sure to be buying and trying more from this line!

You can buy these at Superdrug for £2.99 each, and right now they are 3-4-2.

Review Of The Day: 17 Eyes Eyeshadow in Seagreen Splash

Hey!

Today I'm going to be reviewing 17 Eyeshadow in Seagreen Splash.

It's summer again, and for once, it is actually warm! So I ventured into the depths of my beauty box to look for summery colours to be a new staple to my make-up bag for summer.

I bought this eyeshadow last year in autumn, after it was really relevant to wear it, so I dug it out again this year to hopefully be a new addition to my summer-must-haves.

This eyeshadow, as shown above, is a beautiful sea green colour, with a hint of turquoise shimmer. It has beautiful pigmentation, and is able to create just a smudge of colour or a stronger look. It is very buildable and is just a gorgeous colour to wear, especially if you have a tan.

All of the 17 shadows, as far as I can tell, are very pigmented and wearable. I just love this shade!!

Review Of The Day: Barry M Special Nail Paints!

Hey guys!

Today I am going to be reviewing four of my new nail polishes from Barry M.
L-R: Textured Nail Paint in Station Road, Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Greenberry, Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Prickly Pear and Confetti Nail Paint in Sour Apple.
I am in love with these! I was looking for some new summery nail polishes, and these are perfect. The first is textured, and it is a beautiful lemon colour called Station Road.

Sorry, the camera wasn't focused!

It honestly looks like ice cream. It is just a gorgeous shade and I love it.

I wasn't too sure about the texture, but I love this aspect too - it looks really different and stands out on the nails!

I've found that you get a lot of compliments with this, as, like I said, it is very different!

I was looking for the perfect summer yellow shade, and I think I have found it.

And, it has slight shimmer in the light!

Perfect!!

The next is this gorgeous bright turquoise shade from the Gelly Hi-Shine collection, named Greenberry.

The only bad thing about this is the name!! I mean, Greenberry isn't the most attractive name ever.. and doesn't give high expectations of this beautiful, perfect colour!!

For some reason, I am obsessed with blue nail colours, especially in summer. They just look so colourful and cute!!
For me, it is the ultimate summer shade, and I love the formula too - it really is Hi-Shine and does look like gel!

Gorge as!!!

This next shade is another Gelly Hi-Shine, but this time it is a gorgeous lilac shade called Prickly Pear. Again, name. Really? *laughs*

But other than that, I love this one too.

The shade is to die for, and it is a vibrant lilac, a lot more than most of the other lilacs I have.

The formula is the same, but for some reason it takes more than 3 coats to get the wanted result, but it is worth it!

Again, I love the colour, and for some reason, I'm attracted to these kind of shades too!

Really just a beautiful, subtle summer shade (mega alliteration).

Finally, the confetti nail polish in Sour Apple

At first I was a bit disappointed with this. It takes absolutely a-g-e-s to layer for a full effect look!

But, it is gorgeous as a sheer top coat, and adds depth and glamour to your nails. I love it, and I'm obsessed with it over my two Gelly polishes.

This particular colour is a mix of bright sky blue and sunny yellow.

I love this as an eye-catching top coat and it is a very summer-y way to concentrate your style

Love it!

You are able to buy these from Superdrug at £3.99 each - check out the links.

What's In My Makeup Bag?: Summer

Hey!

I thought considering the sun is shining, and the fact I just bought a new make-up bag (!) I would tell you what is in my summer essentials for make-up. And let me tell you, you may see a pattern emerging in my eyeliner taste for summer... ;-)

DISCLAIMER: I pay for all of my make-up myself by saving up :-)

Ok, here we go then:

Tools

Brush set - My brush set is a mish-mash of brands. The case is in a Make-Up Essentials travel brush case, with Make-Up Essentials' blush, blending, angled, lip and eyeliner brushes. It also has a No. 7 eyeshadow application brush, a Body Shop foundation brush and a squared off Mac eyeshadow brush. I also have a separate kabuki by 17.

Redherring Eyelash Curler

Soap and Glory 'I know I'm not perfect, but I'm pretty damn close!' mirror

Eye Products

Rimmel's Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliners - I have two of these - 005 (a fleshtone shade) and 010 (a beautiful reflective silver). You can do so much with these - I love them.

Bourjois' Intense Extrait Eyeshadow - I have this in the colour 03, which is a gorgeous shimmery peach. Looks beautiful with a tan.

17 Eyes eyeshadow - this is in the colour 'Seagreen Splash' which is a bright seagreen colour (as the name suggests), that, again, looks beautiful with a tan. Read my review here.

Miss Sporty's Mini-Me eyeliner - This is in the colour Neon Pink (090) and looks really pretty as a pop of colour in a otherwise fairly neutral eye, but isn't for the faint hearted!!

Collection 2000's Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner - I have this in the colour Teal - you can read my review on this fabulous product here.

Avon's SuperShock Gel Eyeliner - in Black. This is just a nice, everyday, intense black liner.

Benefit's They're Real! Mascara - It's actually a mini one that I got in Elle magazine - it's a really brilliant mascara, but it isn't waterproof (downside!) and it's too expensive to use as an everyday mascara for me, but a full sized product is on my wishlist!!

Colortrend by Avon's Flirty Eyes - in the colour Bright Eyes. This is a lovely shimmering cream shadow quad including a white, lilac, violet and navy. Perfect for bases, and the white is great for highlighting.

Redherring Eyebrow Gel - this is just a good eyebrow gel.

Avon Glimmerstick Eyeliner - I have this in Blackest Black, and this is a really good waterproof pencil eyeliner.

No. 7 Stay Perfect liquid eyeliner - It doesn't say what colour it is, but it is a really gorgeous reflective turquoise. It is completely waterproof too - a perfect colour and formulation for summer.

Colortrend by Avon Plump Out Mascara - this is the mascara I layer over my Benefit one, to make it waterproof, but it does give volume and definition. It is in the colour Black.

Face Products

Rimmel's Match Perfection concealer - This is a perfect under-eye concealer, but isn't particularly good for blemishes. I wear the colour Ivory (no. 10)

17's Even Tone Corrector Stick - this cancels out redness in blemishes, making them easier to conceal. Plus it's a crazy green colour!!

Rimmel's Natural Bronzer - This is a perfect matte bronzer. I use the shade Sun Glow (no. 25).

Collection 2000's Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Powder - This is the perfect setting and mattifing powder. I use the shade 2 - Medium.

Collection 2000's Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer - This is perfect for concealing blemishes and other impurities. I use the shade Light (2).

Avon's Smooth Minerals Liquid Foundation - this is a sheer foundation perfect for summer. I use the shade Nude.

Elizabeth Arden's Colour Intrigue - My mum gave me this, and I really like it. It is in the shade Tearose (02), and it is a perfect summer night colour, a coral/berry.

Collection 2000's Fix Me Up Long-Lasting Make-Up Fixer - this is a brilliant make-up setting spray, especially in summer, when your make-up slides everywhere! :-)

Lily Cole for the Body Shop Lip and Cheek Dome - This is brilliant for a meek pink lip or cheek look.

Lip Products

Nivea's Raspberry Rose Lip Butter - a perfect (gorgeous smelling) lip butter for summer.

17's Lip Crayon in Bold - a shimmering red lip that can be sheer or strong. In the colour "Bold". Read my review here.

Kate Moss for Rimmel's Matte Lipstick in 110 - this is a gorgeous coral/red shade.

So there you have it!

Review Of The Day: Wonderstruck Perfume by Taylor Swift

Hey!

Sorry! Skipped a day!

Today I'm going to be reviewing Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift.

I first got this perfume last October for my birthday, as I had been looking for a nice, everyday perfume that wasn't a heavy, adult-ish perfume, that was suitable for me. I came across this perfume, and I just fell in love with it - it's just a bonus that I love Taylor Swift!

I was given the 50ml bottle, and then a few weeks later, I went to London, and saw
<this gift set on sale for £10 in Selfridges. It consists of a 50ml bottle, a 5ml handbag size and a scented body lotion.

I love this perfume alone, it's very sweet and floral, and a little overpowering on first spray, but as it sinks into your skin, it becomes more vanilla rounded. It has base notes of amber and peach, heart notes of honeysuckle and vanilla, and top notes of raspberry and freesia.

When you apply it in the morning (for me usually around 7:30 am), it lasts all day (9:30 pm) and the scent changes as it sinks more into your skin. It smells the same in the bottle, but it smells different on different people as it mixes with your natural scent.

<I thought this would be funny to show you - my original bottle on the left and the bottles from the set on the right and in the middle. A FAMILY OF PERFUME!

Overall, I think this perfume is a very fresh, young scent that I wouldn't really consider if I was in my twenties! If you're a teenager looking for a change in scent for summer, this is a really good option - floral and fun!

You can find the 50ml bottle and higher at your local Perfume Shop from £28.50 (£57.00 per 100ml).

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned and follow for more!
